Top 10 List of Apps for Marketers
My iPhone and I have been together for nearly 2 years. It has been a great relationship and I have loved deeply. Thought it was time to share my top 10 list of most used and recommended apps for marketers! Most of these apps I use weekly if not daily and most are free. Check them out, download and see for yourself. Let me know if you have others you recommend! You can check out my 2009 “best apps for women marketers” post here.
A Personal Assistant – Access and manage all your online accounts in one place with the free A Personal Assistant app. Once you add your accounts (like bank accounts, social networks, and online shopping accounts), you can continue to manage those accounts password-free from the app. The app also provides users with a master itinerary, and financial overview complete with transactions and balances. For security purposes, users can remotely disable access should the iPhone get lost.
iTimesheet lite – According to Apple, iTimeSheetLite is the most popular timesheet app on iTunes. This program allows you to record your activities and track the time spent on projects. This is a great app for organization and time management. The lite version is free, or you can upgrade to the full program for $5.99.
WorldCard Contacts – WorldCard Contacts is a great contact organization tool for those in business. For $1.99 users have a place to store all their business contacts with images of their business cards. Features include the ability to call the contact, or the business. Users can also sort contacts and make lists/groups.
LinkedIn – I am more likely to check in to my social networks from my phone than my desktop and now LinkedIn, like Twitter and Facebook, is just a touch away. Great way to look up details and connect with people before and after meetings!
Keynote Remote – This app helps you get out from behind the computer screen, making the audience your focus. Keynote Remote lets you control your KeyNote presentation over a wi-fi connection. Swiping your finger across the iPhone’s touchscreen progresses the slides back and forth. Very cool! You can view presentation in portrait or landscape view simply by turning your phone. Really helpful tool to make a presentation more professional.
Google – Sure, you can use the iPhone’s Safari browser to surf the Google Website, but the Google app is way more efficient. It also includes an effective voice search capability to search both the web and your phone. Easily search “Admavericks” by saying “Admavericks” into your iPhone’s mic. Makes for fun web searching when your entertaining clients!
SimpleMind Touch – is a Mind Mapping tool that turns your iPhone or iPod touch into a brainstorming, idea collection and thought structuring device. The lite version is free. Try the free version first to test it out if you are new to mind mapping.
WordPress – Just starting to use this one but it seems unbelievably easy to manage any WordPress blog from your iPhone! You can approve comments, create and edit posts and pages. “Word” to WordPress and “Word” to Automattic for developing this application.
Scribble – Scribble is a straightforward doodling app that works great as a substitute for a whiteboard. You can also email your concept drawings directly from the app. Simply shake it like an Etch a Sketch to erase. Also a great tool to entertain a 6 year old waiting impatiently at the dentist office.
Type Drawing – My new favorite. Great tool to tap into your creative side or provide some creative stress relief. This is a drawing application that offers the ability to draw with the use of type. Type a sentence, word, or letters for each drawing, select font, size, color and opacity as well. Background papers or photos can be chosen, and the finished drawing can be saved in your album. Results are impressive!
