Ad Mavericks is the award winning (holla) blog written by employees of Lessing-Flynn. Founded in 1907, Lessing-Flynn is one of the oldest advertising agencies in the U.S.  Lessing-Flynn’s current marketing communications efforts can be seen in a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, agriculture, financial, healthcare and construction.  More information about Lessing-Flynn can be found on the company’s website at www.lessingflynn.com or via e-mail at info@lessingflynn.com.

Now we’d like you to read our self promoting bios. How quaint.

Tom Flynn III – El Presidente, a.k.a. “T3″
A healthy dose of nepotism helped Tom become the fourth generation of Flynns at Lessing-Flynn. It’s not often you meet an ad agency president who serves as the day-to-day account lead for multiple clients, and writes copy that tells stories AND sells products. Then again, with four kids, multi-tasking is very familiar to him. It’s hard to imagine a guy this nice came up with the idea for “Worst of the Week.” Maybe there is a dark side yet to be revealed.

Jess Held – Prime Minister
On the surface, Jess appears to be all business. She’s not. While she’s not afraid to pitch a new marketing idea from anywhere – including the dental chair – she is also the agency’s class clown. She’d probably blog more if she wasn’t so busy telling us how busy she is. Hey, someone’s got to keep Mr. Nice Guy in line. A true marketing strategist and PR pro, Jess has lived marketing from both sides of the table for longer than she’s willing to admit.

Josh Fleming – Self Proclaimed “Advocate of Social Media and Interactive Goodness for All”
Josh falls somewhere between geekdom and superhero but probably a lot closer to geekdom. When he’s not heckling Jess he’s typically talking Tom into doing something he probably shouldn’t. At work, Josh geeks out on websites, blogs, Twitter and other social media platforms. Josh is a rare breed who can translate “geek-speak” into business jargon – so he’s often asked to speak about social media to business pros – usually for the cost of a cup of coffee.

Bellana Putz  – Crazed Mom / Account Service Rockstar
A jack of all trades and master of none, Bellana spends most of her day busier than you. If you can find her, she’ll tell you all about her cattle, working Aussie farm and more than you will ever want to know about bull semen. Hey, this kind of information comes in handy when you handle as many agriculture accounts as Lessing-Flynn does. We talk a lot about ag at Lessing-Flynn, Bellana lives it as the strategic lead for a number of agency clients.

Paul Lessing – Lessing-Flynn Founder & 1st Ad Maverick
Before offset printing, radio, television and before Al Gore invented the internet … Paul Lessing pioneered the “storyteller” approach to marketing. His “Melting Pot” newsletter, a 24-pager printed between 1911 and 1914  - served as the precursor to the modern day blog.  While Paul no longer offices in the hallowed halls of Lessing-Flynn, we’ve convinced him to “freelance” from afar as a guest blogger and tweeter.  His insights on marketing and advertising are timeless … just ask him.
